John Ball came to China in 2003. He has worked in colleges, universities and training companies. He has taught mostly English but has some experience of teaching mathematics, computer studies and physics.
Graduating from Birmingham University in Electronic Engineering, John moved into the computer industry as demand was high at the time. He spent the majority of his time in the computer industry working on local, national and international government projects either as a direct employee or with the government as a client. He also spent seven years of his career in Holland where developed a love of foreign languages. He worked in a company where the staff do not normally speak English. He found this a great experience that informs his teaching today.
The computer industry is for young people and at age 35 John began the second part of his career as an English teacher. Climbing steadily and gaining experience of teaching a variety of students from primary school to adults, John has now repeated his success in the computer industry in the teaching profession and is really enjoying teaching the top students at CUFE.
